Selby District Council always have a selection of dogs available for adoption.Dogs that have been rescued by Bill Parker, the Selby Dog Warden, and not been claimed by their owners are offered for re-homing. All dogs are microchipped and neutered by the Council. Prospective owners are charged a nominal amount by the kennels to adopt the dogs whatever the breed, age or sex of the dog. Whilst the Selby Dog Warden service make every effort to advise new owners about the dog, responsibility for the dog's temperament, health and condition passes to the owner when they sign the adoption form. However, the dog is adopted on a seven day trial basis and if the owner decides the dog is unsuitable during this time, they can return it to the kennels. All money will be refunded. Any owner who wants to return a dog to the kennels after this period will be charged an acceptance fee.The Selby Dog Warden service is one of the better ones, they do not put healthy dogs to sleep and the dogs are well looked after. There are always several dogs of different ages and breeds available for adoption and the situation changes on a regular basis. The perfect dog for you could be waiting in the kennels now.
