To place its details on this Notice Board, fill in the lost dog form at Lost Dogs UK (if the link is not working try again later) or at Lurcher Search UK (they will accept details of any breed). This service is free unlike some others. Paying to register a lost dog is no guarantee that it will be more effective in finding your dog than a free listing. Reporting your lost dog to either organisation will result in it being circulated to rescues, dog wardens and listed on Lost Dogs UK, Lurcher Search, champdogs.co.uk message board and the Dog Rescue Net Notice Board. Dogs and puppies are being stolen everyday. Have your dog microchipped.
Dogs are stolen and end up in stray dog pounds miles from home. If they are not claimed within 7 days they can be rehomed or killed. Hundreds of 'stray' dogs are rehomed or killed every week because their owner cannot be identified. You have no right to claim the dog after 7 days. A microchip can also be used to prove that the dog is yours if ownership is disputed. Click here for more information

Your dog is valuable to you - and to thieves! Do not leave your dog tied up outside a shop or leave it in a car! Check how many dogs go 'missing' from gardens!

Keep Your Dog Safe
Walk your dog on a lead at all times. Do not leave your dog unattended in the garden. It is better not to put your dog in the garden at all as they can become targets. If your dog lives outside you should consider bringing it inside as dogs can easily be removed from locked kennels (see notices below). See the reports below of dogs 'missing' from gardens. Have your dog microchipped. It is likely to be the only way your dog will be returned to you if it is stolen and dumped. Dogs go missing from gardens, often at night. Houses are broken into and the dog is stolen. Dogs are stolen from unattended cars (see notices below). Dogs often go missing the same day that 'travellers' move on. All dogs can be sold or 'held for ransom' so don't assume your dog is not a target.

Flo, Crossbreed - Collie x, female. Collie type coat. White and black. Black spot at base of tail, black patch across shoulders, black patches on right side of body. Grey around eyes. Age: 7-8 yrs. Fly, Lurcher, female. Grey, long-haired, quite scruffy coat. She looks a lot like Greengrass's dog Alfred (on Heartbeat), only smaller. Not sure of her height. She is a Whippet/Bedlington terrier cross, so is quite small for a Lurcher. 17 years old. Wearing a collar. She is a old dog, who is going deaf and also has cataracts, so can't see very well. 29th March Missing from Marple, High Peak, Derbyshire.
Tor, Border Collie, female. Face is mainly white with a distinctive black patch which reaches over her right eye and side of her face. Ears are also uneven with one black, and the other ear black and white. Her coat is long and coloured black and white with some very small patches of tan. Very uneven facial markings for a collie - one side of her face is entirely white, with the other side having a black patch. 27th March German Shepherd Needs a Home - Ilford, Essex, UK.
Simba is a 19 month old neutered male German Shepherd. He is house trained, can be left 2-3 hours and does not chew. He OK with dogs and children but will want to play with them. He travels well in cars, does not jump fences and will come back to command. Simba is vaccinated and microchipped.

24th March Two Staffies Needs a Home Together - Swindon, Wilts, UK.

Stella is 6 years old, she is predominently white with brindle patches. Stella is an extremely loving dog and always wants to be around people. She enjoys sitting having a cuddle and loves bathtime. Stella has been spayed and is microchipped.

George was a rescue and is approximately 9 years old and is brindle with a white chest. He is a calm dog, perhaps a little lazy even. He loves sleeping and cuddling up with us and Stella. He loves his walks and loves to lounge in the sun. He has been neutered and is also microchipped.

Both George and Stella have great temperaments, they are great with children and adults alike. Click here for a larger photo. They really do deserve a home with a family where they can receive as much love as they are always willing to give. They are both fully housetrained and have been used to being left for a several hours on their own. Neither of them are destructive. My husband and I are moving abroad with work and unfortunately we unable to take our 2 beautiful Staffies with us, so it is with much sadness that we need to find them a new loving home together. Lurcher - Bull x Greyhound, male, not neutered. Smooth coated. Orange brindle. White blaze on chest and white paws. Only 1 testicle and 1 toe on back foot sticks up. Height: 23 inches. Age: 2 yrs. 23rd March Border Collie Needs a Home - Wythenshawe, Manchester, UK.
Buster is a 3 year old black and white neutered male Border Collie. He is very lively and loved by all the family but our young grandson has asthma and as he is getting older he is getting more chesty and I don't think the dog hairs help. Buster is microchipped. 22nd March Missing from Yatesbury, near Calne, Wiltshire.
Bird, Lurcher, female. Dark grey neck, back and tail with almost white head and light grey legs. Long haired but with skin condition leading to hair thinning all over and patches of hair lost on back and rear. Scabs on back where she keeps pushing through the fence into the field next door. Small cuts from brambles on legs. Nails need cutting. Approx 24 inches tall at shoulder. 14 years old. Collar with cardboard tag wrapped in cellotape. She is very old and stiff and has difficulty lying down, so we always help her. She does a lot of walking round in small circles and never goes more than 200 yards from home. Gem, Border Collie, female. Blue merle. Brown and white. Slight blue tint to the bottom of her left eye. Height: 65-80cm. Age: 15 months. No collar (slipped her collar). Went missing from: Aldershot, Hampshire on 11/03/08. Circumstance of loss: We were takin gem out for a walk and she managed to completely come off her collar and lead and just ran. We have seen her, but she just runs off again. We got her yesterday (the day she went missing), so she doesn't really know the area or us very well so we are having trouble coaxing her towards us. 10th March Lady and Bruno Need a Retirement Home - Plymouth, Devon, UK.
Lady is a 10 year old collie. She is a timid quiet dog who must be rehomed with her best friend Bruno as they are inseparable. Lady would suit a quieter home as she can be shy and nervous initially in new situations. Lady walks well on the lead and loves human company. Click on the photo to see the whole dog.

Bruno is a 7 year old Dachshund cross. He is a very sweet, affectionate and outgoing dog. He loves playing with toys. He gets on very well with Lady butdoes not like any other dogs so should always be kept on the lead when out for a walk. He needs to go to a home with older children and his best friend Lady. 10th March Stolen from Chessington, Surrey.
Labrador cross Collie, male, neutered. Black with short hair and quite good condition. White elongated patch (similar to a mouse with white tail going downwards) on his upper chest. Both of his rear feet have white tips. Small pink scar on his lower chest, probably on his right side. Faint white whiskers on upper lip and smallish white 'beard' on chin. 4/5 grey coloured, best described as dried scabs, under chin/neck. 4th March Stolen from Northallerton, Yorkshire.
Benny, Bulldog, male. Red and white. 16 month old. In order to get to where he was sleeping they had to scale both a neighbour’s fence and the owner’s fence (both 6ft high) and the entire episode seems to have been very carefully planned. The owner realised he was missing when she went to let him out the following morning. Click here for photo. She had previously been approached by two men with Irish accents who claimed they wanted to buy him and take him to Ireland, they'd asked if they could meet at a petrol station. Dandy, Tibetan Terrier x Shitzu, female. Black silky coat with white beard and stripe down belly. Short legs. Can’t see her eyes. 'Smiles' with bottom teeth – doesn’t mean to be aggressive and won’t bite but will roll over if you try to pick her up. However needs to be put on a leash when found and she is aggressive towards other dogs. Small, about twice the size of a Chihuahua. About 2 years old. Circumstance of loss: Was stolen from out of kennels about 8.30 pm on friday 22/2/08. Thieves climbed oer a wall and broke off a lock to gain entry - must have carried the dog back over the wall to get back out. Additional Info: Travellers in the area, have moved on to Caernafon. A silver 4x4 was seen in the private road to this house about the right time for the theft, the same car was seen in a local petrol station and reg no was taken as owners were acting suspiciously. The same 4x4 has been seen on the site in Caernafon, next to a box trailer which could contain dogs. Police have been informed but have not acted upon this information.
